[Japanese level website design that would not embarrass even the most seasoned designers] Morisawa Font Co.Ltd.

Morisawa Font offers a wide variety of fonts, including Japanese, for online and offline use. In Taiwan, it offers traditional Chinese fonts and some Japanese fonts. Morisawa Font commissioned applemint.Co to create an LP for TypeSquare, a full-fledged online font service in Taiwan.

We spoke with Ms. Carey of the Marketing Department about why she came to request applemint Co.Ltd. and what she thought of the project.

What made us decide to work with applemint?

Ms. Carrie: My boss at the time found Mr.Sato for applemint Co.Ltd. in 2018. As is still the case today, if you search for “traditional font”, the blog for applemint Co. appears on the first page. My boss at the time saw the blog and decided to approach applemint Co.. Because it had a deep knowledge of fonts and was strong in digital marketing.

Decisive factor in the decision to request

Ms. Carrie: The deciding factor was applemint Co. has deep knowledge of fonts. Also, Japanese designers for applemint Co. usually use Morisawa fonts, so we didn’t have to explain the fonts from the beginning that we wanted to introduce.

Conversely, we asked applemint.Co which fonts do they think would sell well to Taiwanese people. And asked them for their suggestions.

Ms. Carry:The production of the LP took longer than expected. Although it was only one page, we received various pointers from the Japanese headquarters on the smallest of details. The head office in Japan has very discerning staff, as they usually work with a variety of designers.

Under these circumstances, applemint Co. patiently responded to our requests.

Web advertising is still in its infancy.

Ms. Carrie: Later, due to budget constraints, we decided to do the web advertising for ourselves, and at the time we also received advice on setting up Google advertising. We have yet to see any results from the web advertising, but we hope to continue working with applemint.Co to promote Morisawa fonts in Taiwan through digital marketing.
